HELPFUL INFORMATION FOR NEW OR POTENTIAL RESIDENTS
Occupancy inspections and permits should be obtained any time a property vacates/ populates. The occupancy inspection ensures the safety of the new inhabitants as well as updates any code corrections that may be present from normal wear and tear. It also checks the safety of the structure, and determines the amount of people who can safely inhabit a property. Occupancy inspections and occupancy permits should be obtained BEFORE a person moves into a residence.
Inspections are ordered at City Hall, costs are as follows:
Business/Apartments $95.00 + Permit $10.00
Single Family Residence $125.00+ Permit $10.00
Occupancy inspections are good for one year or until someone moves into the property.
Things needed for occupancy:
*Valid Color Photo ID of any adult residing at the home
*Name and date of birth of any children living in the home for school purposes
*Year, make, model, color and license plate of any vehicle at the residence on a regular basis
*Woodson Terrace does require pet licenses. To get your pet licensed please bring a current vaccination record.
*The “tag” starts in May and is good for one year. Prices range from $1-$3.00 per animal.
John L. Brown Park in Woodson Terrace has three park pavilions available for residents use. Reservations must be made in advance and a damage deposit is required. John L. Brown Park is also home to our Veterans Memorial, municipal swimming pool, playgrounds, and ball fields.
The Community Center also has a hall available for rental for Woodson Terrace Residents. Reservations must be made in advance with payment, and a damage deposit is required.
The City puts on three children’s parties free of charge each year. Halloween, Christmas and Easter. Tickets are required and can be picked up at City Hall. Watch for signs and the marquee for information as the dates approach.
Waste Connections picks up Yard Waste & Recycling on Thursdays and Regular Waste & Bulk pick up on Fridays.
